Filters in Photoshop CS5

You can apply special effects to an image or an object on a layer using Filters. Filters can easily be applied to an image or layer. To get started select the layer you want to apply a filter to or use the marquee tool to select the area you want to apply the filter to. Next go to Filter > Filter Gallery. Use the gallery to select the filter you want to use. If you want to add a second filter click the New Effect Layer button in the bottom right corner.
